My name is Travis, and I live in Dewey, Arizona with my best friend.

I’m also a cancer survivor, and that experience changed the way I see life, relationships, and what truly matters. 

During one of the most difficult chapters of my life, I wasn’t alone. My female dachshund, Frend, was by my side through it all. She became my constant source of comfort, stability, and unconditional love when I needed it most.

In many ways, she wasn’t just my dog—she was my best friend. She still is.

The name FREND comes directly from that bond. It’s a simple word, but it carries a deep meaning for me. It represents the kind of friendship that doesn’t need words, expectations, or conditions—just presence, loyalty, and connection. She was my “friend” in every sense of the word, and the name is my way of honoring that relationship.

FREND is built on that foundation. This company is a reflection of what I went through and what I learned along the way: that healing is never something you do alone, and that the bonds we form—especially with our animals—can carry us through even the hardest moments of life.

Everything FREND stands for comes back to that idea. It’s about loyalty, companionship, and the quiet strength found in simply having someone by your side. What started as a deeply personal experience has grown into something I want to share with others who understand just how powerful that kind of connection can be.

At its core, FREND is more than a brand to me—it’s a tribute to the friend who helped me through my fight, and a reminder that the most meaningful support often comes from the ones who never leave your side.
